Tim Carter helps Jason in PA repair a tub spout leaking water. Jason has two kids and it's likely they were pulling on the spout while they were playing with their fireboats in the tub water.
The repair is simple depending on the type of tub spout. Jason says the faucet installation instructions show it as a threaded spout.
The secret is to remove the tub spout and apply Rectorseal pipe thread compound. Teflon tape is not always the best product.
I've been a master plumber since age 29 and Rectorseal is the best thread compound I've ever used. Here it is:
