You never know who you're talking to when you strike up a conversation with a stranger.

Last week, I was standing up on the mezzanine looking down on gates A4 - A5 at the Baltimore, MD International Airport.

"Do you think it's going to leave on time?" a total stranger asked me.

"Well, if you're talking about the flight to Manchester, NH at gate A5, the answer is yes!"

This man was casually dressed and had a nice black soft-leather briefcase. Soon the conversation wandered and he discovered I was the AsktheBuilder.com guy. We chatted some more.

"That's enough about me. Who are you?"

"I'm Scott."

"What do you do?"

"I'm an astronomer."

Nothing like being modest. It turns out Scott is a PhD and works at the prestigious Space Telescope and Science Institute.

These are the folks responsible for the Hubble Space Telescope and the new James Webb Space Telescope that's got folding hexagonal mirrors adjustable to a millionth of an inch.

Yep, it pays to talk to strangers most of the time. I highly recommend it!
