December 12, 2014 AsktheBuilder Weekend Warrior
I've been trying to make the Friday Weekend Warrior eBlasts short, but it's getting harder to do because there's so much stuff to share!
I'll just try to be more succinct in my writing!
Weekend Warrior Tip: Condensation Problems
The foam insulation condensation dilemma of Basil's that I mentioned on Tuesday generated LOTS of comments at the bottom of that column.
Another virtual friend of mine, Jimmy - who invented the ingenious make-up air vent device, reached out to remind me about ventless appliances. I wrote about ventless gas fireplace log kits years ago.
I recommend you read these two columns about ventless fireplaces. One of the byproducts of burning natural gas or propane is water vapor!!!! Guess where it goes?
Cold-Weather Gift Idea
If you live where snow and ice are on the ground, this is for you.
Are you a runner that goes out and tries to avoid the black ice in the morning? Do you have to navigate icy parking lots or sidewalks going to work? Do you have a hill to go up and down as you shovel snow or operate a snowblower?
Then you need Kahtoola Nanospikes!
I started testing their big brother a year ago, the Kathoola Microspikes and LOVE THEM.
I'm always happy to share GREAT products and Kathoola makes them. I even put a Kathoola sticker on the back of my truck!
Hot Weather Gift Idea
Okay this is NOT the most glamorous gift idea, but it's one of those that keeps on giving every time there's a breeze blowing! CLICK HERE for a gift that will keep you cool. CLUE: You want the Lomanco brand!!!!
Camphor Tops and Tables
Russell Morris sent me some photos of a countertop he was working on.
Wait until you see the wood that was used to make them. CLICK HERE to see LOTS of photos!
Weight of Giant Rock!
This past Sunday I gave you a brain teaser. You had to figure out the name and location of a big boulder. I also wanted you to calculate its weight.
CLICK HERE if you've not yet seen the boulder photo.
You may have been one who decided to rise to the occasion!
CLICK HERE to see my answers and to see how well you did.
I'll be back soon with more tips!
