Build Dry Stack House

Ines Turpin hails from Allen, Oklahoma. She wants to know about building a full-sized Lego house. Can you guess my answer?

"Is it possible to build a house from stackable 2x2x12 or 6 blocks that are designed as Legos?

You see this blocks used by concrete companies as retaining blocks for sand and gravel."

Here's my reply Ines:

Well, the stackable block you're talking about are great for retaining walls, but I'd never use them to build a house unless it was Tahiti, Antigua, Aruba or some other tropical climate where the air temperature hovers between 70 - 90 F. Air leakage through the block would be an issue.

Realize that these stackable block step back each row, so that's quite problematic and the walls will want to tip over.

The bottom line is that I'd never build a house with just dry stack block.
