Best Small Router
I often get asked, "Hey Tim, what's the best small router?"
Well, there are several! My one universal axiom I've said for years and years is:
"Let price be your barometer. More expensive products / tools often contain better parts, better engineering and they simply do a better job over time."
This is true with small routers. CLICK HERE to see an assortment of them.
I've had a traditional Bosch router for years that's served me very well. It's never given me a problem, and it's well balanced. I've had that same experience with all Bosch tools.
I'm convinced their small router, the Bosch PR20EVSK Colt Palm Grip router will perform very well.
What you'll notice with most small routers is less fatigue when using them. They don't seem to vibrate as much and you can achieve great results if you just practice a little bit with them.
The DEWALT DWP611 is a workhorse of a small router. It's motor is a little more powerful than the Bosch, and it's got a well-balanced design.
I've got several DEWALT tools, a 10-inch sliding miter saw among them, and I've never been disappointed with their quality. I'm sure I use my tools more than a serious DIY person, so if you care for this DEWALT router, it might be used one day by your daughter or son.
